Vilma Tihilä & Hanna-Mari Zinovjev

Vilma Tihilä

Vilma Tihilä is a Helsinki stage director, choreographer, film maker and performer. She specialises in multidisciplinary productions combining contemporary dance, new classical and electronic music, physical theatre and film.

Tihilä holds an MA in Screendance from the London Contemporary Dance School (2019) and a degree in contemporary dance from the Turku Conservatory (2015). She also studied at the Sibelius Academy with music theory and classical voice as her main subjects, and physical cinema at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Works directed by her have been performed at, among others, the Helsinki Music Centre, the Barker Theatre in Turku and the Joensuu City Theatre in Finland, and abroad in the UK, Chile, Canada, Palestine and Cameroon.

Hanna-Mari Zinovjev

Hanna-Mari Zinovjev obtained a Master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy in summer 2015. She studied the piano with Hui-Ying Liu Tawaststjerna and Juhani Lagerspetz, and in numerous masterclasses at home in Finland and abroad, spending the academic year 2013/2014 as an exchange student at the Karlsruhe University of Music, as a pupil of Kalle Randalu. A laureate in the Young Artist competition in Colorado, USA and the Leevi Madetoja Competition in Finland, she has been the soloist with the Kymi Sinfonietta and in the Joutseno Young Soloists concert. In 2016–2017 she appeared at the Kokonainen Festival in Hämeenlinna. Her collaboration with Vilma Tihilä beginning in 2019 for a dramatized concert of The Carnival of the Animals was followed in 2021 with a film concert Jäljet and performances in the Helsinki region. During the past year Zinovjev has concentrated on creating a series of Piano Collection music videos combining classical piano music and Finnish design.
