Ivan Zečević
Ivan Zečević, Croatian violist based in Oslo, Norway, graduated with bachelor and master’s degrees under professor Goran Končar at the Zagreb Academy of Music. Afterwards he studied with professor Borivoj Martinić-Jerčić and Leonid Sorokow. Since 2015 he has been studying in Oslo with professor Lars Anders Tomter. Zečević has received many prizes from various competitions and received scholarships from the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. During his studies he regularly participated in master classes with musicians including Tabea Zimmermann, Lars Anders Tomter, Wolfgang Klos, Petras Radzevičius, Isabelle van Keulen, Roland Vamos, Pierre-Henri Xuereb, and Jennifer Stumm.
Since 2008, Ivan has been a member of Zagreb Soloists. With this ensemble he has performed internationally in more than 400 concerts, and as a soloist. In 2013, Zečević got a full-time position in the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. His appearances through Croatian television and radio broadcast programs have made him well known in his home country.
In 2016/17, Zečević served as a solo violist in the Malmö Opera. He is invited to play as solo viola in orchestras such as the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra and Danish National Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber and orchestral musician, he has been involved in recordings for NRK, Sveriges radio, Audite, Decca, HRT and Naxos.
