Jakob Dingstad

Norwegian viola player Jakob Dingstad was appointed as the principal viola in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2017. The same year, he performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante as the soloist of his orchestra. He has also worked as the section leader at the Australian Chamber Orchestra, at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Lahti Symphony, and the Tapiola Sinfonietta.

Dingstad studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and completed his master’s degree with professor Lars Anders Tomter in 2017. Dingstad is also an active chamber musician. As a member of Quartetto Testosterone, he has performed in places like New York’s Carnegie Hall, and he has taken part in sessions organised by the European Chamber Music Academy around Europe.
