Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic
Viola professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg since 2012, Finnish violist Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic studied at the Sibelius Academy in her home town, Helsinki, and in Germany (Saarbrücken and Berlin) with Diemut Poppen and Kim Kashkashian. She has performed extensively as a soloist with orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony, the Hamburg Symphony, Les Siècles Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia in London. She gave the Finnish premieres of the Ligeti solo sonata and the viola concertos by Kurtág and Shchedrin. Her recording of the viola concerto by Kalevi Aho (for BIS, with the Chamber Orchestra of Lapland) won various awards both in Finland and abroad. She has further made several chamber music recordings for BIS, Ondine and TYXart.
A dedicated chamber musician, Gribajcevic performs at festivals worldwide, including the Moritzburg in Germany, the Juventus in France and the Naantali Music Festival in Finland.
Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic has occupied a solo viola position in several Finnish orchestras, the Lahti Symphony and Turku Philharmonic, Avanti! and the Finnish Chamber Orchestra. She is Artistic Director of the chamber music festival in Lohja, Finland, focusing on rarely performed chamber music.
She plays a viola by Vincenzo Postiglione (ca. 1860).
